Nelson Mandela died today. He was not a saint, by any measure, but he was a giant of a man who lived a life worth living. He struggled and fought to bring humanity and justice and freedom to the people of South Africa. He inspired Africans all over the continent to demand respect, to be proud, to stand up for themselves. He earned the admiration of people of all races, from nations all across the globe.
